Welcome to my practice! As a registered nurse since 2004 and a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner since 2011, I have dedicated my career to providing primary and specialty care to women across their lifespan, from adolescence through menopause and beyond. With experience in labor and delivery, obstetrics/gynecology, and participating in top-tier training courses in aesthetics through the American Academy of Facial Esthetics, Injectables EDU, and alongside Erika Barry, NP-C & Waseem Garbia, PA-C of Aesthetic Intel, I bring a wealth of knowledge and compassion to my work. I am passionate about supporting both women and men in meeting their individual beauty needs. Together, we will work towards enhancing your appearance and confidence. Neurotoxin
​What is Botulinum Toxin?
Botulinum toxin, commonly known under brand names like Botox, is a neurotoxic protein produced by Clostridium botulinum bacteria. It works by blocking the release of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter essential for muscle contraction. When injected into specific muscles, it, leads to reduced muscle activity. This effect is advantageous for both therapeutic and cosmetic applications. Since its introduction in the early 1990s, botulinum toxin has become known as a safe and effective treatment when used by trained professionals. Botox has become one of the most requested facial procedures due to it's quick recovery time and minimal discomfort. Botox usually lasts 3-4 months. The effects can vary depending on the individual, the area treated, and the dosage used.

Hyaluronic Acid in the Body: HA is a naturally occurring molecule in all living organisms, and the skin contains the majority of it, about 56%. This carbohydrate is highly hydrophilic, meaning it attracts and binds water, which is crucial for maintaining skin hydration and volume.

Aging and Skin Changes: As we age, the production of collagen, a protein that provides skin structure and elasticity, decreases. After age 35, the body starts losing approximately 1% of collagen per year. This reduction in collagen, along with a decrease in HA levels, contributes to visible signs of aging, such as:

Loss of moisture and volume: The skin becomes drier and less plump.

Wrinkles and fine lines: Due to reduced collagen and HA, skin becomes less able to maintain its shape and firmness.

Discoloration and brown spots: Aging and sun exposure can cause uneven pigmentation.

Rough texture: Skin may feel less smooth and more textured as it loses hydration.

Role of Hyaluronic Acid in Anti-Aging: Given its ability to retain moisture, HA plays a critical role in maintaining the skin's plumpness and elasticity. As collagen and HA levels decline with age, replenishing these substances through topical products (like serums or moisturizers) or injectable treatments (like dermal fillers) can help restore hydration, reduce wrinkles, and improve overall skin texture and volume.

Weight Loss
GLP-1 and Lipo Mino C Injections
There is an increase in morbidity and mortality among individuals who are overweight (BMI 25-29.9) obese (BMI >/=30), or morbidly obese (BMI >/= 40).
Semaglutide and Tirzepatide (incretin-based) medications, along with lifestyle modifications, are proving to be effective in addressing obesity and its related health complications.

Health Risks of Obesity: individuals who are overweight, obese, or morbidly obese face an increased risk of serious health conditions such as Type 2 diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, and coronary heart disease.

Medications for Weight Loss: Tirzepatide and semaglutide, both GLP-1 receptor agonists, are among the most effective treatments for weight loss. These medications work by regulating blood sugar, promote feeling full which will reduce food intake.

Lifestyle Modifications: The combination of these medications with diet changes, regular exercise, and behavioral modifications can significantly aid in weight loss.

Long-Term Therapy: Long-term maintenance therapy is generally recommended for continued weight loss.

Considerations for Women and Fertility: Being overweight or obesity reduces fertility. Studies show that women with a BMI >27 can experience ovulation dysfunction which results in reduced fertility. Obese women with PCOS can benefit greatly from weight loss, as even a 5%-10% reduction in body weight can restore fertility. However, it’s important for women to discontinue GLP-1 medications two months before trying to conceive, as per FDA recommendations.
